STAVEHOUSE®
Overview of the Stavehouse Post & Panel Raising

A Stavebolt threaded onto a 3/4" foundation anchor bolt, projects above the pre-drilled sill timbers.

A Stavebolt connector, partly inserted in the bottom of a wall post. The stitch bolts which lock the device in place enter through the holes at the sides of the glulam timber, which will be hidden in the wall.

Typical 8"x10" wall post fitted over Stavebolts & ready to receive 4.5" by 4' x 8' ft SIP in-fill panels. The splines have not yet been attached.

The 4.5" (+R-20) in-fill SIP is slipped over the 2"x4" splines on the sides of the wall staves, for later screw-fastening.

In-fill continues until wall section is complete. Cuts for doors & windows may be made before or after panel installation.

Once a wall is in-filled & plate timber positioned, the SIP's may be screwed to the splines to complete the Stavehouse shear-wall.

The completed wall sections brace the structure. Interior walls may be added to divide the spaces & to add further lateral strength.

Long wall plates may be extended to provide outboard trussing or posted & covered entry areas for porches & parking, etc.

Note the 3/4" anchor rods projecting through the plate timbers from Stavebolts in tops of posts, to attach the trusses & gables.
