Stavebarn at Midhurst, Ontario - Construction Details


Recycled 12 x 12 Douglas Fir wall posts with Stavebolts installed.

Foundation anchor bolt projects through sill timber into wall post.




Heavy timber wall frame assembled with Stavebolt, lowered to anchor bolting.

Tops of wall posts showing 3/4" rods extending from hidden Stavebolts.



Wall posts with bracing ready for installation of wall in-fill panels and wall plate timbers.



Hidden Stavebolt hardware connecting beams to post and post to plate, later to roof trussing.

Wall in-fill panels (stick framed or SIP's) are fitted between wall posts.




Walls of Stavebarn taking shape as wall panel in-filling continues.




Structural insulated ceiling panels provide office ceiling and flooring for loft above.

Factory supplied trusses are pre-assembled and clad on the ground before hoisting.



A hipped gable, with strapping ready for steel roofing, is hoisted atop the Stavebarn wall system.

The hipped gable is lowered over the 3/4" T. rods extending from the Stavebolts in the wall posts.
