STAVEHOUSE® Stavehouse Design Concepts |
The Stavehouse system utilizes a number of different utility-type trusses. In single story models, our scissor truss with Loon plate hardware at the crossing of the lower chords, is used above vaulted areas. King-post units with or without lower chord ledgers attached to support dropped ceilings, are commonly used above bathroom spaces. The queen-post truss is designed to provide some limited loft space above the single story wall plate height. The 1-1/2 story models utilize a king-post collar-tie truss, set high enough above the loft floor to provide useable living space in the loft area. Dormers may be fitted between trusses. All trusses and gable units share the same "clasping" top-chord approach to framing, with the interior and lower units all single members. The double top chords provide a wider target for roof panel screws, provide wiring access to the apex areas and simplify the engineering and assembly process. All of the major truss connection hardware is hidden except for the bolt ends, plate washers and Loon plates. All of the D. Fir glue laminated truss assemblies are test-fitted at the fabrication plant following manufacture and before packaging for shipment to the project. This extra effort insures that every Stavehouse kit will go together as planned, as long as the foundations and/or receiving sub-floors, etc, have been properly prepared. |
